VISION:  To provide young women exposure to services and institutions that will promote a healthy lifestyle and a sustainable positive future.

MISSION:   Providing young women the tools to promote empowerment through exposure to educational programs, health services, political issues, and economic awareness.

GOAL:  To increase the awareness of women's issues for our young women in the Harbor Area Chapter community.

2014 FACET FOCUS:  Human Trafficking and Violence

Past Programs of the HAC National Trends and Services Facet 

·      Decorated ward at Long Beach General Hospital and provided Christmas gifts for elderly patients

•  Participated in and contributed to Thomas Bradley’s mayoral and gubernatorial campaigns in the city of Los Angeles

•  Wrote letters protesting lack of anchor women of minority races on major TV networks

•  Sponsored annual Presidents’ Ball recognizing and saluting service organizations and contributing to their projects

•  Sponsored public reception at California State University, Dominguez Hills, following lecture by Patricia Russell McCloud, March 1986

•  Supports historical Black colleges and universities through annual contributions

•  Supported and donated funds to Xavier University and Dillard University during Hurricane Katrina crisis

•  January 9, 2010 – Presented Alzheimer’s Workshop in partnership with The Alzheimer’s Association, California Southland Chapter at Trinity Baptist Church

• September 2010- Continuing Health and Wellness Seminars presented to Broadacres Elementary School Students.

• February 3, 2011- Sponsor of Yearly Health Fair at St. Mary’s Hospital, Long Beach, California

• For the 2011/2012 Link year, National Trends and Services is involved in the Nationally Recognized Girls on the Run Program at William Cullen Bryant Elementary School located in Long Beach, CA. Program focus is on young females ages 8 to 13 (elementary and middle school grades 3rd to 8th) with emphasis on self esteem building, obesity reduction and self confidence.  This ten week program in the Fall and the Spring culminates with a 5K or 10K marathon event.  The Marathons have been held in Pasadena, Universal Studio and Santa Monica, California.
