2025 Scholarship Application General Guidelines & Online Application Form
The Harbor Area (CA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated (the “Chapter”) seeks to provide scholarships to qualified high school seniors attending a public school located within a fifty (50) mile radius of the Chapter’s service areas: Long Beach, Lynwood, Cerritos, San Pedro, Carson or Compton, California (the “Area”). Scholarships will be awarded based primarily on academic achievement and financial need. Graduating seniors in need of financial assistance should submit a completed Harbor Area (CA) Chapter High School Senior Scholarship Application by the deadline of 11:59pm Tuesday May 20, 2025.
Please read the following information carefully as it contains specific requirements, procedures and criteria related to the Scholarship Award.
Eligibility and Scholarship Application Submission Criteria and Requirements
An applicant must:
Attend a public school within the Area;
Have a minimum 3.0 GPA;
Submit via email - a current official high school transcript;
Provide a statement of financial need;
Demonstrate leadership, community service, and/or extra-curricular activities;
Submit a 1200-word essay (typed and completed in 12pt font) which indicates the impact the scholarship award would have on his/her/their education and career; and his/her/their plans and intent to use his/her/their education and career in service to others;
Submit two (2) letters of recommendation from a teacher, school counselor, school administrator, or community member (i.e., coach, religious/civic leader, employer or volunteer supervisor);
Submit a current, no larger than 4x6, photograph of yourself.
Prior to applying for this scholarship, please request from your high school registrar, an official stamped high school transcript(s), which you will uploaod to at the time of submission.
If awarded a scholarship, you will receive a congratulatory call and notification letter.
